Daniel’s life experience is as vast as it is varied.
He grew up in Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan before moving to California at age 16. He attended three different high schools and lived through multiple divorces, marriages, and relocations.
But throughout it all, he managed to stay creatively active.
In high school, he wrote, recorded, and performed original music all over the Bay Area, both as a solo artist and in rock bands.
He was also featured in numerous student films, playing well-known roles such as “Blind Guy on Blind Date”; “Unnamed Man #1”; and “Giant Broccoli Monster.”
He attended college in New Mexico, where he learned the basics of audio engineering, along with music theory, composition, and performance. He received a bachelor’s degree in contemporary music in 2012.
After college, he returned to California, where he studied depth psychology and eventually received a master’s degree in counseling psychology in 2015.
Daniel spent nearly 10 years in the field of clinical psychology, but it never felt right. He performed in classes, in workshops, and at conferences whenever he could, but it was never quite enough.
So, after spending 6 years in a PhD program, he formally withdrew in 2022. He decided to fully commit to living a creative life.
Since then, he has been collaborating, experimenting, and honing his skills as a writer, actor, and composer. He also started volunteering for the LABRC, where he regularly speaks and moderates.
